Books Education Learning & Life is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization (B.E.L.L organization for short), with the initiative that was founded in the Bronx, New York City by a group of scholars, educators, coordinators, mentors, and professors. Our goal is to promote an interest in STEM among students residing in under-resourced communities while addressing the other variables which affect those shortcomings.
Our experienced educators deliver workshops to under-resourced students in grades 6-12. We have integrated this method of education in our STEM workshops, after-school and summer programs. At BELL, we monitor the working progress of our workshop students to assess the current competencies of students and oversee their progress in a long-term capacity.
In addition to our STEM programs, we recently ran our Climate Change and Recycling program for applicants between the ages of 9 and 24. In our program participants met at a local community garden to learn the importance of growing their own produce, planting, recycling and the positive impacts on our environment. Students grew plants both at home and at a community garden for their involvement participants were given a $100 gift card and a certificate of completion.
In a concerted effort to empower communities we serve through our food, clothing and book drives as a reminder that we are committed to improving the quality of life for the children and families of the Bronx, New York City and beyond.
