Food insecurity is becoming an urgent crisis for students and families in underserved New York City neighborhoods. The recent cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) including stricter eligibility requirements, reduced benefits, and increased state burdens are deepening the struggle for thousands of low-income families. Children, seniors, hourly workers and non-traditional earners are being hit the hardest, just as local nonprofits and city services are stretched to their limits trying to meet the growing demand.
BELL Organization is working tirelessly to respond. We are partnering with college food pantries and community organizations across Flushing, Queens, New York City to ensure that students and families facing hunger are not left behind. But the need is urgent and growing every day. Together, we must act now to make sure no one in our community goes hungry.
