Congressman Ritchie Torres Library Launch

A recent poll reveals that 95% of New Yorkers believe losing library services would negatively affect their communities, especially children, immigrants, and low-income families. More than half of library users reported that reduced services would limit their access to books. Investing in libraries is essential for supporting low-income students, combating summer learning loss and strengthening academic achievement by ensuring access to books and well-resourced school libraries. Beyond academics, libraries provide diverse programs such as literacy initiatives that promote lifelong learning and enhance community well-being. BELL Organization partnered with authors, children books publishing companies and Congressman Ritchie Torres to launch a little library housed within his office providing free books for children of his district.Â
